I am all about keeping things simple and I’m no different when it comes to embracing God’s Word. We do not need fancy Bible Study books and guides on what to read. Though, those can be a blessing if used purposefully.
I have always personally gained the most from God’s Word when I have simply sat down and read the Bible (often with my 1828 dictionary in hand). It doesn’t always feel inspiring at the moment, but I have peace knowing that I am covering myself with the armor of God.
I know that I have experienced tremendous amounts of peace and comfort from the Scriptures. I have experienced rebuke, conviction, and rebirth through the Scriptures. I have had many moments of revelation and amazement when reading my Bible.
I think keeping things simple in an otherwise busy and rushed life, makes it easier to fit in Bible study time as a family. If you are not having a family Bible study, I encourage you to start today.

3 Reasons To Simply Study The Bible As A Family
- Being intentional about spending time in God’s Word is very important! The devil loves distracting us from spending time with God, and we must know this and counteract his efforts.
- Just reading His Perfect Word prepares us to face the world and this life. I have no doubt that what I read will give me strength for whatever I may face.
- It doesn’t have to be a complicated experience. Don’t make it a task that feels overwhelming or drawn-out. Just read the Bible. Seriously.
You can keep family Bible study time simple yet fulfilling. I and a group of other bloggers are sharing how we use the Bible in our homes to teach our children about our Heavenly Father. Read my featured article about How We Simplify Bible Study over at In All You Do.
