If you’ve ever wondered how to best support female health naturally, whether for yourself or your daughters, then this article is for you! Just so you know: I have been self-taught in this area and while I have researched a lot over the last several years, this is simply me sharing what has worked for me.
As a tween, teen, and young wife I just followed mainstream techniques and traditions passed down from my mother. I suffered from horrible menstrual cramps, heavy periods, skin issues, moodiness, nausea, and more but I thought that was all normal parts of “growing up”.
When my mom was fighting cancer from 2003-2007 (both holistically and conventionally), and then when I had my first child who was born with health issues in 2005, I started to become concerned with toxins in my life. I started to research natural health via diet, personal care, supplements, exercise, etc.
Now, many years later, I have found several ways to support female health naturally! I feel SO much better when I “practice what I preach” in regards to diet, personal care, supplements, exercise, etc.
With myself & 7 children needing help with allergies, autoimmune disease, & more – and having daughters who are growing up – I want to model what it means to care for myself so that my children (daughters) can learn to do so through my example. I know that more is caught than taught!
Since I have an autoimmune disease, I do not want to boost my immune system. I try to avoid immune boosters and instead focus on supplements that support and strengthen my body in other ways.

Best Ways To Support Female Health Naturally
Coral Calcium – this was one of the first supplements I found to help ease my cycles. It was a subtle improvement, but enough to know it was helping!
Garlic Pills – this is something I first started taking to help my skin issues. I still use it to help fight illness, but try to avoid taking it during my period since it seems to cause me to have a heavier flow. I typically take it a few days a month or when I have been exposed to sickness. << This is where I get mine >>
Probiotics – specifically Tummy Tune-Up from Beeyoutiful changed my life for the better. I am a strong believer in gut health being the foundation of our whole health. << Get the kind I do here >>
Red Raspberry Leaf Pills – I have been taking this for many years to help regulate and support my cycles and hormones. I typically start taking it a few days before I expect my period, and then until my period ends, each month. << I buy mine from here >>
Iodine Pills – I take this kind << found here >> and it was recommended to me by my naturopath doctor many years ago when I was in the midst of pregnancies/babies and giving birth almost yearly. He said that my thyroid was suffering from a lack of iodine because my uterus/ovaries were “hogging” it all. It helped increase my energy. I still take it in the same way as I do the Raspberry (see above) even though my baby is 4.
Maca Powder – this may be THE best way to support female health naturally that I have ever found! I discovered this a few years ago when I got a free package as a bonus through a bundle of resources I bought and I was BLOWN away by how much it helped me! I have been taking it every day since (except when I ran out before ordering more — and I suffered that month!). It has made my menstrual cramps almost entirely nonexistent, my flow is much lighter, and my period decreased in length by a couple days! I take 1 tsp every day blended into my “bulletproof coffee” every morning. << This is my favorite kind here. >> But, the yellow kind is great, too!
Integral Collagen – this is great for skin, hair, and nail health. It is known to help the bones and the gut, too. Research its benefits! I use it for the protein it provides and I blend it into my morning coffee every single day. << I love and buy this kind here. >>
More Gut Healing & Anti-inflammatory Tips
I drink kombucha and/or water kefir weekly (and almost daily).
I drink water with Raw Apple Cider Vinegar.
I eat fermented foods (sauerkraut, etc.).
I take curcumin/turmeric pills. << this is the kind I take >>
I eat whole foods. In fact, I follow << this >> lifestyle about 80+% of the time and have done so since 2013. I fully agree with the science behind it and can testify to how it has helped me to be healthy & lose weight.
I eat antioxidant-rich foods. I shared about my favorites several years ago in << this >> article.
More Tips For Supporting Female Health Naturally
I exercise using gentle techniques that can be implemented at home and with my busy mom life using routines I learned from << this site >> and have been doing so for several years!
I love the new eCourse that the same site for healthy female bodies has for teaching young girls from 9 to 14 and their moms all about female health in a non-sexual/superficial/immodest way! These are things I had to mostly learn on my own as an adult and I am so thankful for this course “holding my hand” and guiding me through teaching my girls.
I hope you have found this article helpful! Let me know in the comments how you support female health naturally!
Thank you so much for this! I have had and still do deal with some of the same “female” issues you listed and also have learned the hard way what works and what doesn’t. I have never taken Maca before and was kind of surprised to see it spoken so highly of for these specific issues! I’ll definitely have to try it now!
