This Reading List For Homemakers is meant to equip you with practical tips and biblical encouragement to embrace your calling as a homemaker. You’ll notice I have a favorite author or two. 🙂

Homemakers, we are making our house a home.

We are stay-at-home moms, sometimes homeschooling and/or working from home on top of making our house a home. We are homemakers and we need support and encouragement!

I think that is why I love the blogging world so much! It gives those of us who can not get out of the house much a chance to see into other homemakers’ homes, read about how they manage their large families, and take what we find useful from them and apply it to our own lives.

I know that there are some less-than-authentic bloggers out there, but if you search hard enough you will find some really lovely women: bloggers who are down-to-earth and have a real heart for mentoring other Christian women on their walk through motherhood, homemaking, marriage, and homeschooling.

I have been so encouraged by many homemaking and homeschooling bloggers. I have learned from them what did and didn’t work for their large family, how they handled a tough situation, and the tricks they’ve discovered along the way in their homemaking journey. The online community of Christian homemakers has been such a blessing to me!

It is very important to have the support and encouragement you need from other like-minded homemakers. Homemaking is a never-ending job. We must focus on the importance of what God has called us to do in this season of our lives.

Caring for our homes while caring for our husbands and children is truly a privilege. We need friends who can say “been there, done that” when we are having a bad day, but who also lift us to the One who has called us to be homemakers. Books by Christian authors may be a great source of encouragement, but do not neglect to read the Bible daily!
