Have you ever wondered Which Book of the Bible Should I Read? I have. As I have slowly grown in faith on life’s long journey, I have found that during certain seasons of my life I have gravitated towards specific books of the Bible for encouragement, comfort, and hope.
I am sharing these guidelines based on how I’ve been convicted and encouraged as I read each particular book – obviously, the entire Bible is God’s inspired Word that should be read cover to cover, little by little, daily, monthly, and yearly.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
In both the Old and New Testament books, I have seen a reoccurring theme of repentance and redemption.
- REPENT’ANCE, noun, the pain, regret or affliction which a person feels on account of his past conduct, because it exposes him to punishment. This sorrow proceeding merely from the fear of punishment, is called legal repentance as being excited by the terrors of legal penalties, and it may exist without an amendment of life. Real penitence; sorrow or deep contrition for sin, as an offense and dishonor to God, a violation of his holy law, and the basest ingratitude towards a Being of infinite benevolence.
- REDEMP’TION, noun [Latin redemption.] the purchase of God’s favor by the death and sufferings of Christ; the ransom or deliverance of sinners from the bondage of sin and the penalties of God’s violated law by the atonement of Christ.

Which Book of the Bible Should I Read? And Why?
Old Testament Books
Genesis for Grounding – when I have felt distracted by the world’s cry for everything but God, I remind myself of God the Creator by reading the book of Genesis.
Exodus through Job – God’s mercy is displayed again and again.
Psalm for Prayer – when I have felt at a loss for words or have no desire to pray, I read the book of Psalms for prayers, praise, and promises!
Proverbs through Song of Solomon – are the books of wisdom and instruction.
Isaiah through Malachi – reveal God’s faithfulness and coming plan to save us through Jesus Christ our LORD and Saviour.
New Testament Books
Gospels for Guidance – when I feel lost and am seeking God’s Truth, I read the four Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke, or John and focus on the work & words of Jesus Christ recorded there.
Romans for Reassurance – proclaims the power of Jesus in our lives.
Acts – inspires and encourages weary travelers to keep up the good fight.
Galatians – describes the fruit of the spirit.
Ephesians – outlines who we are in Christ.
Philippians – tells what to focus on as a child of God.
Colossians through Titus (and the books of Peter) – details practical ways to live as a Christian.
John for Joy – when I need to remember God’s love for me and the joy that His love gives me, I read the books of John.
Philemon – is an example of duty as a servant and love as a brother in Christ.
Hebrews and James – are faith books.
Jude – is a letter of warning.
Revelation – is exactly that (a revelation).
In summary:
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit is glorified from Genesis to Revelation. To God’s glory and for our sanctification from beginning to end.
(These descriptions should not take away from the living power of the Holy Word.)

Dear Clarissa:
Love all of your freebies. I would buy a bunch of the materials you sell but my husband and I are both disabled Veterans and when my husband got his social Security my pension was discontinued. We got by with my less than $2,000 pension at that time and we will get by this time with God’s help. He has always been with me.
Love
Jackie
