Whenever I hear of a death, whether someone I know distantly or someone I know not at all, I wince… my heart aches… my eyes burn… oh how death stings deeply!
Once you have lost someone you love deeply, you look at other’s losses so much differently. Because you KNOW. It hurts. There are no words to take away their pain. You can not change it for them. They must start a lifetime of grief. I hate to sound so discouraging, but there is no getting around the truth that losing someone you love is a pain compared to none on this earth… except one.
Eternal Death Stings Most
What?? There is something worse than losing a loved one to death??
Yes… losing a loved one to spiritual death! You see, without God sending His son, without Jesus Christ, without His perfect work, without His holy sacrifice, and without His Resurrection and victory over death… we would all suffer eternal death in addition to earthly death.
Just imagine how loving/losing someone who has not been born-again in the Holy Spirit would be a pain worse than losing a loved one who is a believer! You KNOW you will see a believer again in Heaven and you KNOW they are at peace with Jesus, but an unbeliever… they are lost to us. They are lost forever. Eternity without Jesus.
But ~Praise God!~ while there is still breath, there is still hope. Never stop sharing & living the gospel message, you never know who may need to hear it!
Matthew 5:15-17
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mark 16:15 & 16
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Very true! A good reminder to all of us Christians. 🙂
