I truly believe that children are a blessing… no ifs, ands, or buts! I saw this mentality played out in my own family as a child growing up with 9 siblings (plus 3 miscarried siblings). I definitely think this now as an adult with my own 8 blessings! I don’t really need convincing that God tells us that children are a blessing in His Word, nor do I need convicting in believing it to be His desire for us to “let Him” open and close the womb.
But, I DO get discouraged sometimes raising several children under age 9 and I DO wish I were better at sharing this message with others and I DO need encouragement to continue being obedient to God’s Holy Word. THAT is where Moore Family Films comes in! I agreed to review their film Children are a Blessing and am so thankful I did!

What a refreshing and encouraging film! This film is strictly Bible-based (which I love!), but offers a personal look into the hearts of a family obeying God’s Word with the number of children they have… leaving it all in God’s hands and trusting in Him to provide for all of their needs. While the film is about the misconceptions of the birth control pill, abortion, and the church accepting/promoting all or some of the ways to prevent or destroy the beautiful blessing of children… it’s core message is this: in ALL things, in ALL parts of life, look to the Bible… look to God’s Holy Word and ask, “What saith the Scripture?”.
It also tastefully documents their own journey as they prepare for and welcome their tenth blessing into the family! It includes the children’s perspective on having a large family and their excitement over a new sibling. The bonus features include a deeper look into what the 5 oldest children think about parenthood and large families, “A Front Porch Discussion” with the parents of this family where they answer a lot of common questions posed to large families, quotes from founder of Planned Parenthood Margaret Sanger (really sad to see how she thinks), and more!
I could relate to a lot of what the children said about being raised in a large family and loved their gentle spirits. They show amazing respect for their parents and most importantly, to the God of the Bible! I really liked the front porch chat bonus feature and how they always quoted scripture throughout the film! I think the main feature is appropriate for children to watch, but some of the bonus features may not be. I suggest the parents watch the film first and decide whether they feel okay with their children watching any or all of it.
