The Lord’s Prayer is the prayer that Jesus tells us to pray. It is the perfect prayer and can always be said even (especially) when we can not think of what to pray – the words are powerful because they are the words of God.
It is found in Matthew chapter 6. I love teaching my children to say the Lord’s Prayer exactly as it is written in the Scriptures.

Though it may seem that reciting a prayer is just reciting empty words, it is not so. The Word of God is powerful and Jesus tells us the Lord’s Prayer is enough to say when no other words come.
Even when you feel nothing and your soul feels cold, these words have meaning. Learn them and let them be on your lips at all times.
When fear, anxiety, restlessness, sleeplessness, pain, and sorrow overcome you – whisper the Lord’s Prayer. When your child needs to be comforted – say the Lord’s Prayer.

The Lord’s Prayer
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
We say this prayer together as a family every night. It is a great way to regroup after a busy day, refresh our spirits, and bond to each other as well as to the Lord.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
