SkirtedBlues on Etsy.com is a small home business owned by Ruth, homeschool mother of 8 and a farmer’s wife. With a passion for modesty and fashion, she started converting practical jeans into beautiful skirts. Check out her Etsy shop to see the brands and patterns she has available. She often takes custom orders, too, so let her know if you are wanting something customized.
My 3-year-old is very active, so I was looking for a jean skirt that would hold up to her busyness. SkirtedBlues had a converted jeans-to-skirt piece that was exactly what I was looking for. It is Oshkosh brand, has an adjustable elastic waist, and is of sturdy jean material.
Ruth converted these 3T jeans beautifully to a feminine skirt that has a small ruffle around the bottom. The pretty, delicate flower pattern makes it all girl, while the skirt is everything you love about jeans. Ruth’s professional-quality sewing makes it look like it was always meant to be a skirt and I love the raw-edge seam where she sewed in the centerpieces.
I like to pair skirts with leggings (unless they are maxi length), so that my girls can still play, but stay modest doing so. My daughter has gotten great use out this skirt from SkirtedBlues already, including wearing it outside in the mud with her rain boots!
It is adorable paired with bright-colored shirts. It has been a great play skirt. I would love for you to browse Ruth’s Etsy shop, you are likely to find the perfect skirt for yourself or your daughters!
