Geology & Biblical History Homeschool Curriculum Set – Review

I am excited about this Geology & Biblical History Homeschool Curriculum Set because we are very passionate about Creation Science and learning about science from a Biblical worldview as a family. My husband, I, and our children all enjoy listening to, watching, or reading about God’s creation from a scientific perspective.

Right now, we learn science as a family and in a relaxed manner. Watching Creation Science DVDs and shows is one of our favorite ways to do this. We simply make sure to keep a lot of Creation Science resources in our home and as part of our family time and homeschool curriculum.

As my oldest child enters high school in a few years, we know that his education will have an extra emphasis on science in a more structured way than it does now. He loves science, and we are already planning what science courses he will cover in high school.

He also loves the history of the Earth and its inhabitants, which makes sense when you look at science as a Creationist. Science & history go hand-in-hand, and as a Christian, the Bible is our main “history book”.

My son has a special interest in paleontology, human biology, and more. He reads high school science textbooks for fun. Who knows where these interests will take him, but I love that we can encourage these interests of his and mold his education around them!

Geology and Biblical History Homeschool Curriculum

Master Books has a huge selection of Christian homeschool curricula to choose from. We have had a lot of fun browsing their website and discussing which courses we might include in his high school years.

The Geology & Biblical History Curriculum Pack we received is 1 credit of high school science. This set includes 3 DVDs from Awesome Science, 3 books from the True North Series, and 1 Parent Lesson Planner (PLP) by Master Books.

Using the Awesome Science DVDs and True North books as a resource, the PLP has lessons for 36 weeks and includes study guide worksheets, quizzes/tests, and the answer key. As a homeschool mom, I found it important that the PLP grants permission to make copies of the worksheets to be used within one homeschool family or a class of 10 or fewer students!

At age ten, my son is still a little too young for the lessons geared toward students in 7th-9th grade, so we have not used the PLP. I have glanced over it and found it to be easy to follow, with daily/weekly lessons completely provided on the first pages.

This curriculum set includes vocabulary and writing, as well. The student is quizzed periodically and tested at the end of each quarter. Younger students are free to do open-book tests. We will be saving this for when my son enters 7th grade in a couple of years.

The Awesome Science DVDs and True North Series books are being well used, though! We have watched every DVD, including the hilarious bloopers in the bonus features!

We all enjoyed the up-close look at some of North America’s greatest natural landmarks: Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, and Zion National Park. Throughout, scientific facts at each location prove that our earth is indeed a young earth as accurately documented in Genesis. Young Noah Justice does an incredible job at hosting the films; he presents the facts well and keeps us entertained!

The True North Series books are hardcover and spiral-bound. They are packed full of full-color photos and are considered a complete guide to these parks, including travel tips and amazing facts. All from a Biblical worldview! The books are authored by four experienced Creation Scientists.

Between the DVDs and the books, we are able to go on “field trips” in our living room. If we ever get a chance to take our children to these majestic places for real, these resources will certainly come in handy! How amazing that we can learn so much about God’s creation and the truths of His Word through the works of many Christians, like those involved with Master Books!
