How To Deep Clean Your Body
I recommend using the Trim Healthy Mama Plan to change your lifestyle. It is a sustainable lifestyle.
I started THM in June 2013 and for several years, I ate “on-plan” during the week, but splurged on whatever I wanted over the weekend – this was not healthy. My weight and health were on a rollercoaster.
January 2020 I committed 100% and have never felt better! I have been 99% on-plan since then – only eating a handful of off-plan food a couple of times during the week after my 14-year-old daughter suddenly died.
In January of 2023, I became a certified Trim Healthy Mama Lifestyle Coach. You can follow my Instagram account for tips and meal ideas.

The Back Story
I became pregnant with my 8th baby in August 2013 and continued on-plan and was doing great until the 8th month of pregnancy. Our oldest daughter had a medical emergency that left her fighting for her life in the PICU for the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy.
Living in the hospital, I was eating junk food and sugar-filled coffee to survive. We were “let out” just 2 days before my baby was born!
After that, I struggled to eat healthily and keep the weight off. My weight slowly crept up until I was at my heaviest weight ever – reaching 1 pound heavier than when I was DUE with my babies – yikes!
So, I was determined to reset my health! I committed 100% to THM in January 2020!
The healthy lifestyle I live is a specific plan that has taught me the best ways to deep clean or reset my body – without addressing any specific health issues or medical/dietary needs. I have educated myself to determine the best way to eat (and live) for the best health.
Steps to Take to Deep Clean Your Body
- Cut out added sugar.
- Cut out processed food (preservatives/ additives, etc.).
- Eat whole foods.
- Start with single-ingredient items.
- Cook/bake from scratch.
- Eat healthy fats.
- Eat healthy carbs.
- Eat healthy protein.
- Drink lots of fluids, starting with more water.
- Drink and eat things that will flush toxins from your body.
- Be more active.
Best Tips
- Keep meals simple: start with a healthy protein and add veggies, whole grains, fruit, etc.
- Use pure stevia, Truvia, raw honey, or pure maple syrup as a sweetener.
- Add coconut oil, olive oil, fresh avocados, butter, tallow, and other healthy fats to your diet.
- Get most of your carbs from veggies, whole (sourdough/fermented/soaked) grains, oatmeal, etc.
- Eat wild-caught salmon, grass-fed beef/lamb, and lean poultry.
- Use an Instant Pot for healthier, quicker meals.
- Drink real bone broth or add gelatin to hot tea to support your gut health.
- Drink iced green tea or water with raw apple cider vinegar and sweetened with low-glycemic sweetener or lemon-infused water.
- Take a high-quality probiotic to help heal the gut for better overall health.
- Take Epsom Salt and/or essential oil baths to relax and “detox”.
- Start a tummy-safe and quick exercise routine that can be done in your living room, to boost your metabolism and tone your body.
- Utilize resources on the web to educate yourself on better health. Analyze and use common sense and critical thinking skills to determine the truth from the hype. However, I prefer to think about the biblical lifestyle when considering health programs (for example: they ate real, whole foods from every food group in the Bible, so I do not agree with diets that eliminate a food group like meat, grains, veggies, etc.)
- Read books about health – I trust everything from THM which is Bible-based and science-backed (and agree with about 99% of what they share). THIS book of recipes and health information is also a good resource.
