I thought you might be interested in my reading list for mom to read for herself and not out loud to her children. These books will inspire and encourage moms!
You know, I used to be an avid reader. I used to read Christian fiction, devouring one book per night.
But, then I had kids. And not just any kids… but, medical-special needs kids. Reading for pleasure stopped for lack of time and energy.
I replaced Janette Oke and Lori Wick with Dr. Seuss and Little Golden Books. Can anyone else relate?

Don’t get me wrong, I love reading to my kids! I have loved introducing my kids to some of my childhood favorites like The Little House Books, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Mandie Series, and so on.
These are books I have found to be encouraging and uplifting. They are deep enough to be worth reading, but light enough to read just a chapter here or there.
I no longer have a great desire to read fiction, though, so my list reflects that (although, there may be a fiction book or two on it). Check out the books I recommend (listed in no particular order) and let me know in the comments what’s on your reading list!
