Use these Christian Biographies for Kids as part of your history curriculum in your homeschool or as family read-alouds. Add them to your Morning Time basket or your bedtime devotions.
Hand them to your elementary-aged children to read on their own – I think they are great for children from preschool through middle school. However you choose to use them, I know they will bless your family!
Christian Biographies for Kids
There are several books in the Who What Why series by Danika Cooley – the latest being the Who Were the Disciples?, What Was the Cross?, and Why Did the Resurrection Happen? – All with amazing historical and biblical accuracy. You can find all of them HERE.
Choose the books that best fit the period your family is studying, or explore topics your child has been interested in. These 3 books about Jesus and the Disciples are great for teaching early church history and the Gospel.
Who Were the Disciples? dives into the backgrounds and lives of each of the disciples. There are short yet informative chapters for each.
What Was the Cross? goes into detail about the historical significance of the cross and the part it played in providing a way for salvation. The chapters take you through the history of the world concerning the cross, from the Garden of Eden to the crucifixion of Jesus.
Why Did the Resurrection Happen? ties the Old and New Testaments of the Bible together beautifully to present the Gospel, which was fulfilled by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It also highlights the eyewitnesses, providing overwhelming proof of this world-changing event!
At the end of each book, the way of salvation is shared from the perspective of the book’s topic. A timeline provides a great overview of the events described in the book. Reading the 3 books in each set brings all of the historical events being covered together wonderfully.
These books are a great way to bring history alive. I believe that reading “living history” books is the best way to learn history. We love reading these Christian Biographies for Kids as a family!
