IndoctriNation: A DVD Review

School violence and bullying, common core, and the anti-Christ movement throughout government schools is bravely addressed and examined in the documentary IndoctriNation: Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America. The history behind public education is factually presented, starting from it’s roots.

Concerns about the United States’ negative history are challenged and honestly debunked (when applicable) with quotes from our Founding Fathers. The Revolutionary War, the Mexican-American War, the American-Indian Wars, the Civil War, WW 1 & 2, etc. are all looked at carefully. The influence they had on our great nation and the education system are explained. Teachers, parents, & students in the public school system are interviewed. Big names like John Taylor Gatto, Ken Ham, and Doug Phillips are featured, as well.

All of this is interwoven into the documentary as a large homeschooling family travels across the U.S. in a – get this – yellow school bus, visiting national monuments and places of interest. The father of this Christian homeschooling family is the narrator and main character of the film.

At the bottom (and at the top) of this film, is the intent to shed light on what God’s Word has to say about these matters. Scriptures are quoted throughout, showing exactly what God intends for the training up of the next generation. I really appreciated the biblical backing.

My husband and I watched this DVD together. We were both blown away by the bold statements and facts presented throughout the DVD. My husband was shocked to learn exactly how and why the public education system was started in the first place. These are things I had researched myself throughout the last several years, but watching and seeing the facts behind all that I’ve told him, was very eye-opening.

I was sometimes disgusted, often encouraged, emotional at times, and overwhelmed with thankfulness and praise by the end of the film that I have been called to give my children a home education. My husband actually turned to me after we watched this DVD and thanked me for sacrificing my freedom to homeschool our children.

If you have had questions about the public schools your children attend, have been considering a home education, or simply desire to educate yourself on the matter, this DVD is a must watch! Be prepared to have your eyes opened.
