Tour our homeschool house!
I have seen some inspirational posts on others’ homeschool rooms and I would love to join in… only we do not have a “homeschool room”… we have a “homeschool house”!
You see, we do not have one or two rooms that can be set aside to be used as only a homeschool room. We have our homeschooling stuff spread throughout our home and we “do school” in a couple of different places as well.
I so wish we could have a nicely organized room, all set up with walls of shelving and cabinets, a nice table, a chalkboard/whiteboard, teacher’s desk, etc.!

Instead, we have charts and bulletin boards in our kitchen and use our kitchen table for seatwork.
We have our computer in the living room to be used for watching curriculum DVDs and educational look-up. Alongside our bookshelf that has educational “living” books my kids are allowed to read anytime (and textbooks).
We have a cabinet in our master bedroom filled with art supplies, pencils, paper, card stock, not-being-used-this-year curriculum, and readers, etc.
We have our currently-being-used-curriculum stored on the bookshelf of my desk, also in our master bedroom.
Lastly, we have a world map tacked up in the boys’ room.
Someday, we may have a room devoted to all of our schooling needs, but until then… we will be happy & thankful to have a Homeschool House!
Not to be discouraging, but I think it's better to have a homeschool house rather than just a room. Especially if a lifestyle of learning is your goal.
I have my office that I store most of my homeschool stuff in but we homeschool all over the house… I like having a place to put it all but I also like a homeschooling house 🙂 If that makes sense?? 🙂
I agree with schooling wherever and whenever life happens… but would be nice to have a room to hide all of the school stuff away in! 🙂
